SUMMARY
The educational assistant supports and assists the classroom teacher. The teacher communicates with the educational assistant regarding support tasks that help classroom management or that support student learning.
The educational assistant is oriented and evaluated by the school principal and / or designee. The educational assistant helps in upholding the mission, vision, learning, and discipline philosophy of St. Anthony School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Individual student help in reading, writing, mathematics
- Small group assistance to students in reading, writing, mathematics
- Limited grading of some types of student work
- Translating orally or writing (if bilingual)
- Assistance for student access of bathrooms Assistance in student cafeteria processes
- Playground and lunch supervision
- Assist Substitute teacher with classroom coverage in the absence of the teacher
- Classroom Coverage as needed
- Calling parents as directed by teacher or office personnel
- Other duties assigned by the principal or designee
- Designing bulletin boards Working on projects
- Performs other duties as assigned.
