At St Francis House & Port in the Storm Homeless Youth Center, we’re more than a homeless shelter. We’re a housing-focused program committed to providing support, hope, and opportunities for individuals experiencing homelessness. Through innovative programs and compassionate care, we help our clients rebuild their lives—and we want you to be part of the journey.
Your Role:
As our Event Coordinator, you’ll design, plan, and execute engaging events that generate critical resources, raise awareness, and foster community partnerships to support our mission. From heartfelt fundraisers to inspiring community events, your creativity will directly impact lives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and executing fundraising events, participating in community outreach programs, and assisting with volunteer initiatives.
- Developing and executing an annual event plan with the help of the agency’s task force.
- Securing sponsorships for each event.
- Coordinating with local businesses, sponsors, donors and task force to create partnerships that amplify our impact.
- Managing event logistics, from budgets to timelines, negotiating with vendors, promoting the events in person and on social and other media outlets, ensuring every detail shines.
- Curating auction donations, organizing and executing successful auctions at select events.
- Attending networking events; representing the agency in the community.
- Sharing the shelter’s story in creative, inspiring ways to engage our community.
- Working collaboratively with a small, close-knit team.
- Keeping up-to-date inventory of event supplies.

What You Bring to the Table:
- Event planning or coordination experience.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Experience running successful silent/live auctions.
- Experience working with non-profit development and passion for social impact and helping underserved communities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- A knack for connecting with people and building relationships.
