  1. To the Program Director or his/her designee.
  2. For working at the prescribed times as agreed upon with the Program Director.
  3. For following all policies and procedures of the organization.
  4. For completing all onboarding training and maintaining required annual trainings.
  5. For the direct supervision and management of the behavior of the children.
  6. For providing crisis intervention when a crisis occurs with the child.
  7. For following proper physical restraint techniques when necessary to prevent a child from harming themselves or others
  8. For planning and conducting group discussions or constructive recreational activities with children when appropriately scheduled.
  9. For maintaining accurate records and written documentation of all work activities in the manner prescribed by the Program Director and the policies and procedures.
  10. For completing onboard training and maintaining required annual trainings.
  11. For attending all in-house staff meetings and treatment team meetings unless excused.
  12. For purchasing food, planning menus, and preparing meals.
  13. For performing general housekeeping and laundry tasks.
  14. For reporting facility or grounds maintenance needs to the Administrative Director to assure the safety of the clients.
  15. For instructing children in personal hygiene habits and overseeing the children’s physical health.
  16. For dispensing items such as toiletries, clothing, linens, etc. as required.
  17. For monitoring and documenting consumption of medication and ensuring that the proper medication and dosage is always available.
  18. For participating in referral interviews and new intakes as needed.
  19. For transporting children to any medical and other appointments as needed, to school as needed, and other place as prescribed by the individual treatment plan.
  20. For assisting with fundraising activities.
  21. For other duties as assigned.                                                                                                                                                                                       

Qualifications


  1. A minimum of high school diploma or GED
  2. Two years’ experience working with youth who have mental/behavioral health issues, preferably in a residential setting, or a bachelor’s degree in related mental health field.
  3. Valid Driver’s License
  4. History free of offenses listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character
  5. Providing a role model and mentor for children.  The ability to present self in a positive, professional manner to the children and other agency personnel.
  6. Being a Team Member.  The desire to work cooperatively as a member of a team for the benefit of the child and the organization.
  7. Ability to provide structure.  The ability to be consistent in providing discipline to each child, as prescribed by the program and the individual treatment plan.
  8. Ability to provide a homelike environment.  The ability to make the SAYS residential environment as close to a home as possible.
