- To the Program Director or his/her designee.
- For working at the prescribed times as agreed upon with the Program Director.
- For following all policies and procedures of the organization.
- For completing all onboarding training and maintaining required annual trainings.
- For the direct supervision and management of the behavior of the children.
- For providing crisis intervention when a crisis occurs with the child.
- For following proper physical restraint techniques when necessary to prevent a child from harming themselves or others
- For planning and conducting group discussions or constructive recreational activities with children when appropriately scheduled.
- For maintaining accurate records and written documentation of all work activities in the manner prescribed by the Program Director and the policies and procedures.
- For completing onboard training and maintaining required annual trainings.
- For attending all in-house staff meetings and treatment team meetings unless excused.
- For purchasing food, planning menus, and preparing meals.
- For performing general housekeeping and laundry tasks.
- For reporting facility or grounds maintenance needs to the Administrative Director to assure the safety of the clients.
- For instructing children in personal hygiene habits and overseeing the children’s physical health.
- For dispensing items such as toiletries, clothing, linens, etc. as required.
- For monitoring and documenting consumption of medication and ensuring that the proper medication and dosage is always available.
- For participating in referral interviews and new intakes as needed.
- For transporting children to any medical and other appointments as needed, to school as needed, and other place as prescribed by the individual treatment plan.
- For assisting with fundraising activities.
- For other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience working with youth who have mental/behavioral health issues, preferably in a residential setting, or a bachelor’s degree in related mental health field.
- Valid Driver’s License
- History free of offenses listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character
- Providing a role model and mentor for children. The ability to present self in a positive, professional manner to the children and other agency personnel.
- Being a Team Member. The desire to work cooperatively as a member of a team for the benefit of the child and the organization.
- Ability to provide structure. The ability to be consistent in providing discipline to each child, as prescribed by the program and the individual treatment plan.
- Ability to provide a homelike environment. The ability to make the SAYS residential environment as close to a home as possible.
