Saint Benedict School is seeking a skilled and mission-driven AIS (Academic Intervention Services) Teacher to provide targeted support in Reading and Math to students in grades 4–8 for the 2025-2026 school year. Job ResponsibilitiesThe AIS Intervention Teacher will:
- Provide small-group and individualized instruction in Reading and Math to students in grades 4–8 who are identified as needing academic support.
- Use data-driven approaches and assessment tools aligned with New York State standards to identify learning gaps and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, instructional support staff, and administration to design and implement effective intervention plans.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, including multisensory and scaffolded techniques, to support students' academic growth.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate with families and staff about student needs and achievements.
- Support the school’s mission by contributing to a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment rooted in Catholic values.
- Attend school events, professional development sessions, and faculty meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Math, or a related field.
- Valid New York State Certification in Childhood Education, Literacy, Middle School Math, or a related area (preferred).
- Experience delivering reading and/or math interventions at the upper elementary or middle school level; Catholic school experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of intervention programs, instructional technology tools, and diagnostic assessments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and supportive school environment.
Employment RequirementsEmployment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, reference checks, and the submission of all required paperwork.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary: From $30,000 annually.
- 10-month, full-time exempt position with benefits eligibility.
