Job Overview

The Public Safety Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all individuals within the facility. This position involves monitoring premises, enforcing regulations, and responding to emergencies to ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and property. Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- PERC certification/20-hour security certification.
- Current State I.D or Current Driver’s license with good driving record.
- Minimum of two (2) years of security experience in a hospital setting. (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Patrol (foot or mobile) and monitor hospital properties for unauthorized persons. If needed, redirect or escort from property.
- Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, employees, contractors, and volunteers.
- Provide escort service for staff or visitors upon request.
- Monitor all visitors and staff for proper identification.
- Enforce and maintain visitor control in accordance with hospital regulations regarding visiting hours, age of visitor, and number of visitors per patient.
- Perform bag checks of employees leaving hospital property at designated areas.
- Check for hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Enforce parking restrictions on hospital premises.
- Ensure current city, state, and federal laws and regulations are enforced with regards to the hospital.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with the public and law enforcement agencies.
- Initiate incident reports covering specific types of security situations or incidents and submit to supervisor.
- Inform supervisor regarding serious and/or pertinent situations.
- Perform pick-ups and/or deliveries in the absence of Driver.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $24.00 per hour
