Education

Master’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be credentialed from national certifying body. Valid APN license. Prescribing authority with valid DEA number.

The Hospital Gastroenterology APRN provides direct patient care services to adult inpatients in collaboration with and under the supervision of a physician. The APRN is responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Performing physical exams
· Collecting and documenting patient data
· Ordering and scheduling laboratory studies and consultations
· Prescribing appropriate interventions and medications
· Coordinating patient care and discharge planning
· Providing direct patient care services
The APRN plays a critical role in ensuring excellence in patient care. Attendance is an essential function of this role, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Compensation & Call Coverage
· Weekend call is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate
· Holiday shifts are paid at 2 times the hourly rate
· APRNs may choose to receive compensation or use these shifts as comp days -
