SUMMARY

To maintains a clean and odorless facility for all residents, staff and visitors in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility. This position reports to the Support Services Manager. Always remembering this is the home of the sisters and residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned and in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform.

• A good housekeeping worker must have excellent attention to detail
• Cleans individual resident rooms and all common areas as assigned
• Follows Infection Control policies and procedures at all times including standard precautions and use of PPE as needed
• Follow infection control policies to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility including the prevention of transmission of communicable disease
• Uses approved cleaning products for disinfection and sanitation
• Handling and disposing of hazardous materials, such as medical waste and infectious substances, in a safe and responsible manner
• Operates appropriate equipment/machines to perform daily cleaning tasks as assigned
• Interact with patients to understand their individual needs and replenish room items as needed
• Keeps housekeeping closet and carts clean and organized
• Keeps current with all new ideas.
• Follow safety, fire safety and emergency preparedness policy and responds timely and professionally to an emergency situation
• Ensures resident rights are followed including privacy, confidentiality, prevention of and/or reporting of abuse
• Participates in QAPI and related committees as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Graduate from a high school

Previous hospital or healthcare environmental services experience preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

None Required

ADA Requirements

Candidates will have the physical ability to perform job related duties which may require lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs or more as needed

PRE REQUISITES

A physical exam, drug screen, and background screening are required as appropriate.
