NURSE
Job Title: Staff Nurse
Department: Nursing
Reports to: Director of Nursing
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
- The Staff Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients and families; and supervising assigned team members. The Nurse is responsible to the Clinical Manager for the assigned Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. As a nurse you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Other duties may be assigned and in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform.
- Performs assessment and evaluation within the scope of the RN role to promote wellness
- Medication-receives, stores, administers/discontinues medications as prescribed
- Monitors and documents medications/treatment affects and behaviors
- Consults with physician and other disciplines to decide individual treatment plan
- Assures that documentation reflects changes in resident condition and notification to appropriate individual has occurred.
- Delegates and assign daily duties to C N A’s.
- Provides education to resident and family on plan of care
- Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner.
- Demonstrates compliance with infection prevention and control practices in a healthcare setting as per CDC Guidance
- Ensures rights of the residents, dignity, privacy and confidentiality are maintained
- Participates in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies
- Participates QAPI and related committees as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse position requires an Associates Degree or BSN from an accredited College or University.
LPN position requires verification from an approved LPN/VN nursing education program.
Successful completion of NCLEX-RN or PN Exam
Prior experience in a LTC facility preferred but not required
Active and unrestricted license in the State of New Jersey
ADA Requirements
Candidates will have the physical ability to perform job related duties which may require lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs or more as needed
PRE REQUISITES
A physical exam, drug screen, and background screening are required as appropriate.
St Catherine of Siena Inc., minimum requirement is its employees to be “fully vaccinated” defined as received the Covid-19 vaccine primary series. The preferred standard of “Up to date” is completed primary vaccine series plus the most recent booster recommended by CDC.
