Pay Range : $80, 000 – $90,000 / year

Position Overview :
The Principal / Director of Day Treatment (“Principal”) of the R&E May School, an 853 School, is responsible for the day to day operation, organization, planning, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the R&E May School’s Special Education and Day Treatment Program. The Principal supervises R&E May School staff under the leadership and supervision of the Agency’s Executive Director. Specifications & Requirements :
- R&E May School follows the school year calendar / schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00am – 4 : 00pm .
- NYS Teacher Certification (Special Education - grades K-6); and NYS School Building Leader Certification or other comparable NYS Administrator's license.
- Knowledge of NYS Special Education Dept. (SED) policies and regulations.
- Five years’ experience in a special education is preferred, with supervisory / program planning experience.
- Experience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) is preferred.
- Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year).
- Ability to work with children with mental health issues, trauma, abuse, developmental and / or cognitive disabilities.
- Experience with AWARDS / NYS Connections is preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, including fingerprinting.
