Advertisement St. Catherine University and the Student Accounts department invites applications for full-time Accountant – Student Receivables.
The Student Accounts department plays a critical role in managing the financial aspects of student enrollment and ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of transactions related to student tuition, fees, and financial aid. As the Accountant – Student Receivables , you will assist the Director of Accounting Services in overseeing daily operations of student accounts receivable. This includes reviewing, maintaining, and posting student account transactions promptly and accurately. You will also manage collection efforts for overdue accounts, process refunds for excess financial aid, and handle third-party payments and scholarship reporting.
Responsibilities :
- Review and post student transactions (charges, fines, fees) to student’s records
- Partner with Financial Aid on posting of aid (feeds) including scholarships, external or third partner payments, payments on account, student loans (nursing loan awards, entrance / exit reporting and uploads to ECSI), and outside scholarship reporting
- Process excess financial aid refund
- Assisting students with payment plans and assist the Director of Accounting Services with payment plan creation each semester
- Process employer reimbursements and communicate with Financial Aid
- Reviewing past due balances each semester and placing delinquent accounts with collection agencies per university policy
- Review check requests and returning third party payments and / or scholarships
- Reconcile student related general ledger accounts monthly
- Support and maintain integrity of student account data
- Process student account holds
- Process any necessary manual adjustments to student accounts
- Manage TouchNet / KatePay as primary administrator
- Review and manage ECSI RecoverySelect
- First point of contact for the cashier window, taking payments, answering questions, processing manual tuition and housing deposits
- Process form 8300 for cash payments over $10,000 (automatic message on cashiering station)
- Document student interactions on Banner : SPACMNT
- Assist internal staff and other departments with questions related to student charges / disputes and help resolve issues or discrepancies
- Responsible to attend all orientation or events that require student accounts presence
