Position Summary Information
Advertisement The School of Nursing at St. Catherine University invites applications for a .75 FTE Assistant Professor position for a 9 / 12 month contract. This is a hybrid (onsite and online) evening weekend program that includes summer teaching. This faculty will be in the BSN – College for Adults program.
The Assistant Professor is accountable for student learning the School of Nursing (SoN) by fulfilling responsibilities that contribute to the achievement of student learning and program outcomes. This faculty member will fulfill legal requirements specified by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and conduct themself in accord with accreditation standards required by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and Higher Learning Commission. Faculty responsibilities are organized using the ACEN accreditation standards for nursing programs.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitates student learning in by teaching assigned courses including labs and clinicals and advising a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate University services.
- Evaluates student learning in assigned courses.
- Assesses, designs, teaches, and evaluates curricular content and learning experiences in assigned courses to promote student learning outcomes.
- Maintains curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of course student learning outcomes identified in the curriculum map.
- Selects methods and tools to assess, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
- Uses identified assessment methods to evaluate achievement of student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
- Provides clear, timely, and specific evaluative feedback to students about course assignments and / or clinical performance.
- Participates in and / or completes the faculty course evaluation form at the end of the course.
- Integrates evaluative findings in the course improvement process.
- Evaluates adequacy of clinical placements for student learning in assigned courses.
- Participates in recruitment, orientation, and advising activities according to Program of Study, Department of Nursing, and University requirements.
- Participates in designated committee, program, and departmental activities to implement the program-specific systematic evaluation plan.
- Uses assessment and evaluative data from the program-specific systematic evaluation plan to promote achievement of student learning outcomes and program outcomes.
Salary : $44,000 – $52,000

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
