Job Description
Job Title : Medical Physicist
Job Specialty : Cancer Services - Radiation Therapy
Job Duration : 13 weeks, with potential extension until July
Shift : 8 and 10 hour day shifts
Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week
Experience : Two (2) years in a medical center as a Radiation Oncology Physicist or resident
License : ABR board eligible, with certification required within 5 years of eligibility or residency graduation
Certifications : Member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, BLS - AHA certification required
Must-Have : Master's Degree in Medical Physics from an accredited program
Job Description :
- Provide expertise in supporting Cancer Services Radiation Therapy to ensure safe, effective, and accurate radiation treatment delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and participate in radiation safety initiatives.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in quality control practices, patient treatment techniques, and department management strategies.
- Collaborate with the radiation therapy team to maintain high standards of patient care and contribute to clinical excellence.
- Utilize Elekta and Varian linear accelerators, and support systems like Mosaiq, ARIA, and Brainlab.
- Produce clear, thorough documentation and communication to support high-quality patient care.
- Work structured shifts in accordance with best practice guidelines for optimal patient outcomes.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary to perform job duties safely.
Note : Candidate may be required to work different shift patterns based on coverage needs.
