St. Charles Community College seeks a part-time Head Coach - Cross Country / Track & Field responsible for the administration of all aspects of the Cross Country and Track and Field programs including coaching, recruiting, student-athlete mentoring and ensuring program compliance with the NJCAA, MCCAC and College rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Achieving a high level of competence in sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions.
- Providing effective sport instruction during meets.
- Recruiting student-athletes effectively under the direction of the Athletic Director.
- Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NJCAA, MCCAC, College and the Department of Athletics Code of Conduct.
- Achieving competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence.
- Demonstrating a sincere interest in the social, emotional, academic development, as well as the athletic welfare of student-athletes.
- Exhibiting supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuing sport program goals established by the Athletic Director.
- Exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes.
- Completing all assignments given by the Director of Athletics including but not limited to recruitment and fundraising.
- Participating in department meetings and workshops to increase professional skills and knowledge.
- Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships within the Athletic Department and with the rest of the college community.
- Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
