St. Charles Community College's (SCC) Regional Workforce Innovation Center (RWIC) in Wentzville will prepare the region's workforce for jobs in technology, welding, advanced manufacturing, robotics, logistics, healthcare, and more. SCC anticipates opening the RWIC in the Fall of 2025.

POSITION SUMMARY
SCC is seeking qualified candidates for multiple positions of Adjunct Faculty: Machining. The ideal candidate(s) will perform instructional classroom and practical hands-on training in various Machining topics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Machining principles, Mater CAM, CNC Milling Machine, CNC Lathe, CNC Programming and installation techniques. The candidate will also develop class projects, technical assignments, and laboratory instruction to prepare students for careers in the machining industry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Deliver instructional classroom and practical hands-on training MasterCAM.
- Develop and deliver curriculum that complies with industry-recognized Machining procedures.
- Teach various Machining principles, safety procedures, Machinist hand tools and equipment, Indicating Micrometer, Machine Set up.
- Develop class projects, technical assignments, and laboratory instruction.
- Prepare students to enter the workforce as skilled Machinist.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree/Trade School in Machining/MasterCAM or a related field with at least five years of experience in the Machining industry. Relevant work-related experience, recognized certifications, registered apprenticeship, and/or licensures may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- Knowledge and strong understanding of G-codes, CNC programming, Machinist Hand tools, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to perform and teach various Machining techniques, including CNC Programming and Machine Setup on Vertical Mill, CNC mill & CNC lathe.
- One year of instructor/training experience within the last ten years in the Machining/aerospace industry.
- Solid mechanical aptitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree/Advanced Trade School experience
- Three years of instructor/training experience and three years of industry experience within the last ten years in Machining/Aerospace or a closely related industry.
- Experience working in an academic setting.
- Experience working with G-codes
- Experience Programming Fanuc CNC Milling Machine, Fanuc CNC Lathe.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving and math skills
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand drawing features.
