What are the responsibilities and job description for the Records Services Clerk - Recorder of Deeds position at St. Charles County Government?
JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to provide prompt and efficient customer service to the public for the office of the Recorder of Deeds. As a representative for the Recorder of Deeds, provides document duplication of archived records. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Clerical Supervisor II.
- Greet and assist customers needing information on all archived records; assist with department equipment and location of various documents.
- Answer phones; assist with various inquires.
- Respond to requests for duplication of all archived records via fax, email, or mail
- Receipt, prepare and duplicate all archived record requests to transmit via fax, email or mail; certify on behalf of the Recorder if needed.
- Receive and post cash, check, credit card, and electronic payments.
- Support and assist team members daily to accomplish objectives and workflow; including scanning, indexing, and filing.
- Trains other employees as assigned.
- Interfaces with vendors regarding maintenance of office equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- General or Technical high school diploma or equivalent
Job Experience
- 1-3 years of customer-facing office experience, involving data entry and/or word processing.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
- Knowledge and training in basic office procedures, keyboarding and computers required.
- Requires successful completion of computerized clerical skills testing as follows:
- Data Entry - 4200 KSPH
- Customer Service - 80%
- Basic Math – 75%
