What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Dog Trainer position at St. Charles Dog Wizard?
The Dog Wizard is a mobile dog training franchise that has been in business for over 15 years. It’s not magic, it’s dog training done right. We pride ourselves on our customer service, excellent standards of care in training, and fulfilling our mission to improve the quality of life for our customers and their dogs through our well defined training methodologies. The Dog Wizard offers a wide range of services from puppy training, group classes, private in-home training, board and trains, and more. Our training ranges from basic obedience to behavior modification to aggressive or highly reactive dogs.
We are seeking a qualified candidate for a lead dog trainer position who is career driven and looking for an opportunity to grow with our company from the ground up. We love upbeat, intrinsically motivated individuals who have a passion for learning, and are problem solvers. The ability to provide stellar customer service and professionalism is a must.
Qualifications:
- Achieve a career that makes a difference in the lives of your customers
- Knowledge of the dog training business is a plus but not required
- Leadership skills that will help our team grow and excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to aid in sales and team development
- Ability to board dogs at your home is highly desirable
- Self motivated and possess a strong work ethic
- Lives in or willing to relocate near St. Charles, Batavia, or Geneva
- Valid driver’s license
Specific responsibilities include:
- Work with The Dog Wizard team to implement training to standard
- Identify issues and problem solve to address challenges swiftly
- Execute sold training of all programs that are offered and available at The Dog Wizard
- Update clients on progress of training through phone, email, and daily updates on social media
- Provide lifetime support to existing and future clients through the Graduate Support Group that is held 1x/week, as well as evaluate additional needs as becomes necessary
- Assist in developing and maintaining community relationships through attending events, scheduling lunch and learns with local businesses, and building brand awareness by training in the community
- Build the quality reputation of The Dog Wizard through word of mouth referrals, online reviews, and delivery of the expected goals for training
- Communicate with the team and clients effectively about training needs of the dogs
Experience:
- Dog Training experience is not required. Training at The Dog Wizard Academy is mandatory
- Online Training must be completed before hands-on training starts
- 2 weeks of hands-on training follows online training
