Lewis & Clark Career CenterCOMPUTER SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Motivate and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
· Provide adequate hands-on and meaningful projects for students.
· Ensure SkillsUSA personal, workplace, and technical skills are promoted to students as a SkillsUSA advisor.
· Maintain appropriate parent communication regarding student progress.
· Work as a cooperative team member within the Lewis & Clark Career Center.
· Maintain proper stewardship regarding supply and material budgets.
· Maintain prudent and accurate financial records for applicable outside projects.
· Maintain good public relations within the district and in the general community.
· Implement current curriculum while continually and appropriately updating curriculum to meet the industry standards found in St. Charles County and beyond.
· Maintain an active advisory committee of industry professionals to help guide the program and inform curriculum planning.
· Provide adequate project-based learning activities and hands-on projects for students.
· Control and maintain program supply inventories.
· Attend New Teacher Institute and complete other college and industry course work necessary to maintain a valid Missouri career education teaching certificate.
Qualifications:
- Eligible for Missouri Vocational Teachers Certification
- Must possess a minimum of two years within the last five years of directly-related occupational experience, or have other experience that contributes directly to the competency required in the occupation being taught.
- Teachers who will be teaching in a professionally-licensed occupation must be currently licensed and maintain licensure in that occupation.
