What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at St. Clair Country Club?
Located eight miles from downtown Pittsburgh in the heart of the South Hills, St. Clair Country Club is searching for motivated, reliable and passionate Bartenders. Our Team is committed to providing the highest quality dining, social, entertainment and recreational experiences to its 870 members and their families and guests.
We have several different bar outlets including our popular member bar and private parties that range from 30 to 300 people. We are currently seeking an experienced bartender with a friendly and outgoing demeanor and a strong work ethic. A presentable, conservative appearance is important.
Compensation:
Our bartenders are paid a rate of $11/hour plus a guaranteed service fee of 18% on all of their food and beverage sales. There is also the opportunity for added gratuity in addition to the guaranteed service fee.
Hours of operations:
In our member restaurants, lunch and dinner are available Tuesday through Sunday during season (April October) and Wednesday through Sunday during the off-season (October March).
3 Days/Week Day & Evening Shifts
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer
- Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for members and guests
- Interacts with customers, take orders and serves drinks
- Assesses members' needs and preferences and makes recommendations
- Provides outstanding service with a smile to our members and their guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Displays teamwork and delivers optimum member/guest experience
- Knows all menus and bar items
- Processes orders in POS
- Completes opening/closing activities
- Promotes Club activities to members
- Communicates to management any safety concerns
Other Functions
- Performs clean up and other duties assigned by manager
- Handles issues courteously and professionally
- Advises supervisor of any member/guest complaints so they can be immediately and professionally resolved
- Operates within all guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints
- Assists in the implementation of Club mandatory standards of operations as they relate to Food and Beverage
Qualifications:
- Previous Bartender experience
- Food and Beverage knowledge

- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability
- Walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitiously
