About the Position:
This role significantly impacts each participant's opportunity to gain employment and self-sufficiency. It also affects the department's ability to meet performance goals and pass federal, state, and local monitoring reviews.
Duties:
1. Provide employability development and case management services to an assigned caseload under Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I, Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, and related workforce development programs.
2. Determine applicant eligibility for various WIOA funding streams, provide accurate information on eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and application procedures, and maintain client files and record-keeping systems.
3. Assess applicant suitability for employment and training programs and services, refer suitable applicants to programs not managed by WIOA, and provide information on available services and counseling applicants about the same.
4. Refer all suitable applicants to objective assessments, review assessment reports with applicants, and address job training and supportive services needs.
5. Develop individual employability plans (IEPs) for each applicant, record case management information, and update IEPs regularly.
6. Provide participants with career, education, and job search assistance, including current employment trends, growth occupation projections, and job search resources.
7. Enroll participants in appropriate WIOA Title I, Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, or related training programs and services, maintain accurate enrollment records, and complete exit records as approved by the Field Office Supervisor.
8. Manage program budgets according to obligation and de-obligation system procedures and instructions, authorize payments for participant training and service costs, and monitor participant achievement of performance standards.
9. Enter participant information into the IWDS system, maintain knowledge of partner programs, make referrals, and facilitate effective coordination.
10. Perform general customer service activities, including responding to inquiries, assisting with orientations, and facilitating services in Southwestern Illinois workNet Center Resource Rooms.
11. Maintain knowledge of WIOA programs, federal, state, and local policy and regulations relevant to WIOA Title I and Trade Adjustment Assistance Act.
12. Establish professional working relationships with other agencies and programs to facilitate the referral of applicants in need of other services and exchange information relative to common clients.
13. Prepare routine and special reports as directed by the Field Office Supervisor and perform other duties assigned.
