What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Department Care Assistant position at St. Clair Health?
Summary
In accordance with established standards, assists with clinical and patient care activities in the Emergency Department under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must possess at least one of the following :
Completion of a health related educational program focused on the delivery of direct patient care.
Three months of experience in a clinical setting delivering direct patient care.
Six months of experience providing in-person customer service.
Ability to lift and transport patients of various weights and ages.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
A fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
