What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist Credentialing and Privileging #7622 position at St. Clair Hospital?
Summary
Responsible for coordination of the services provided to the Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff members of St. Clair Hospital. Creates and maintains practitioner applications and tracks files through the credentialing processes (i.e. initial appointment, reappointment, change in category, expirable management, etc.). Participates in meeting management and emergency department on-call schedule maintenance. Assists with Department of Health and The Joint Commission survey preparation.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in the Medical Staff Services (e.g., credentialing, privileging, enrollment, and/or medical staff office).
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of Hospital personnel, outside agencies, patients, and families.
- Strong organizational and professional communication skills, and the ability to prioritize workload and multitask.
- Experience operating standard office equipment.
- Proficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), when eligible.
- Experience in medical staff credentialing, privileging, enrollment and/or medical staff office.
- Knowledge of integration of the Joint Commission standards, Department of Health regulations, medical staff governing policies into the credentialing and privileging process.
