What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasonographer High Risk OB/GYN position at St Clair Memorial Hospital?
Summary
Highly experienced in OB ultrasound. Performs two-, three-, and four-dimensional ultrasonic images of anatomical structures for use by physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs. Under general direction of supervisor and radiologist, performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs ultrasound studies that require independent judgment and initiative to apply ultrasound for diagnosis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
- Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in OB/GYN (ARDMS) and in good standing status. Additional Registry in Abdomen and or RVT is a plus.
- Three years of experience in obstetrical ultrasound; high risk OB preferred.
- Ability to review patient information pertinent to study along with the critical thinking and experience needed to recognize abnormalities to correlate with ultrasound findings for diagnosis by the radiologists.
- Reliable and responsible.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Analytical ability to adjust and calibrate equipment.
- Assist in problem solving and working towards solutions for continuing quality improvements within the department to support the philosophy of St. Clair Hospital.
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
