HEALTH CAREERS PROGRAM
(PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Supplemental Instructor will be a member of the Health Careers instructional team for the purpose of providing educational support services to students in the Health Certified Nurse Aide program. The Supplemental Instructor assists students to overcome their educational barriers in the CNA technical skills as well as reading, math, and communications skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse and one year work related experience in a long-term care facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, re-teach, and/or reinforce technical instruction.
- Provide remedial math and reading assistance related to the technical content of the training program.
- Assist students in the development of their personal management skills.
- Assist students in school-to-work transition skills development.
- Assist with clinical skill training and practice in the lab.
- Provide clinical skill training support at the clinical site under the supervision of the primary instructor.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Substitute teach when the Instructor is absent.
- Assist with recruiting and promotional activities.
- Assist with student management activities.
- Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.
- Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students.

REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL: A current certified nursing assistant certification in the state of Michigan

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of Contract: 90 days, as needed
Salary: $25.00/hour
