Job Description

Job Title : Echo Technician

Job Specialty : Echocardiography

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day - 4x10 - 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM with the option for 5x8 hour shifts

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required

License : Not required

Certifications :

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) Verification
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) Verification

Must-Have : Experience in Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), contrast, and bubble studies.

Job Description :

  • Perform Echocardiography, conducting both outpatient and inpatient examinations as needed.
  • Utilize EMR software, specifically Epic, and work with Change Healthcare for PACS.
  • Operate department-specific equipment such as Philips Epiq 7 and iE33.
  • Possibly float among different sites but efforts will be made to maintain consistent site assignments. Rare midday relocations may occur.
  • Average of 7 studies conducted per day.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday shifts as required.
  • Respond to occasional call or standby requirements with a 45-minute response time for initiating scans.
  • Scrubs will be provided.
  • Engage in a department-specific orientation and adhere to the cancellation policy.
  • Work under the guidance of a regional echo supervisor with the presence of cardiologists in-house.
  • No requirement for starting IVs.
  • Sites are generally within a 20-minute distance from the central facility, using consistent equipment and EMR systems across locations.
  • Ensure exemplary patient care and adhere to departmental protocols.
