St. Clement Academy of Maitland is seeking an experienced and passionate elementary teacher who is dedicated to providing a rigorous education that integrates the Orthodox Christian faith into all aspects of learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a nurturing demeanor, ability to create a stimulating and engaging work environment, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to the spiritual growth of their students.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of children ages 4-9.
· Establish and maintain rules for behavior and manage children’s activities to foster a positive learning environment that models Christian values, including kindness, compassion, and respect in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
· Implement strategies to encourage cooperation in all aspects of Orthodox Christian teachings and traditions.
· Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child’s progress, providing updates and discussing any concerns.
· Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
· Follow all school policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and child protection guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
· Valid teaching license/certification.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children ages 4-9.
Skills and abilities:
· Knowledge of Orthodox Christian teachings and practices.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues.
· Willingness to implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
· Knowledge with Florida state standards and best practices in education.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
Other Requirements:
· CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
· Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
