The venue boasts over 90 acres of unique grounds and gardens. We offer three unique event spaces, all while maintaining a personal connection with each couple / client.
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and professional individuals to join the team at Saint Clements Castle & Marina one of Connecticut's premier wedding and event venues!
Summary :
The main duties of the Maintenance Worker / Groundskeeper position are to ensure the property at Saint Clement’s Castle and Marina is functioning and in pristine condition. This is a hands-on position that requires a lot of repairs and maintains the overall appearance of the castle. This position requires knowledge in electrical, plumbing, construction, heavy machinery, and everyday maintenance along with groundskeeping duties.
Duties & Responsibilities :
o Communicate with all departments to always ensure safety and cleanliness of the property.
o Utilize your knowledge of and skills in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, and general repairs to complete projects as set by your supervisor.
o Address problems or concerns with the facility in a responsive and professional manner.
o Work independently and efficiently as you respond to a variety of situations.
o Maintain organized inspection logs of equipment to include filter changes, belts, etc.
o Maintain all pertinent records in a timely and efficient manner.
o Open and close the building according to protocols.
o Operate heavy machinery as needed.
o Always observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
o Snowplow removal during the winter months.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
o Maintaining knowledge and adhering to all Saint Clements Castle policies and procedures established by the company, including but not limited to those in the employee handbook.

Qualifications & Requirements :
o Must be available to work weekends and nights.
o Must be available to open and close the facility as needed.
o Must have a high level of energy.
o Must work well with others.
o Must be able to lift, bend and move up to 50 pounds, regularly.
