What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse | Medical Oncology position at St. Cloud Hospital?
The RN will provide clinical support to providers in the Medical Oncology Clinic at Monticello. Responsibilities include medication administration/ infusion to oncology and hematology patients, patient assessment, antineoplastic validation, patient education, side effect management, chemotherapy orders and validation, chemotherapy teaching, and more. Many responsibilities include working with physicians, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and others. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Maintains professional competencies by obtaining/maintaining the Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider certification, attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.
Schedule:
- Full-time | 64 hours every two weeks | Onsite
- Monday- Friday | 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- No weekends or holidays!
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay based on experience and degree
- Associate/Diploma in nursing starting at $40.33 per hour
- Bachelor’s in nursing starting at $41.34 per hour
- Master’s in nursing starting at $42.37 per hour
- Pay range: $40.33 - $60.50 per hour

Qualifications:
- Graduate from a nursing program required
- BSN required within 3 years of hire
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy
- National Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.
- Obtain Oncology Nurse Society (ONS) Chemotherapy provider card within 6 months of hire.
- Current ONS provider card must be maintained at all times.
- A minimum of 1 year acute care experience preferred. Ambulatory or Oncology nursing experience preferred, including telephone triage, symptom management, and administration of chemotherapy and management of venous access devices.
