Pay
- $15-17 per hour
- Pay rate based on qualifications and experience
- Part-Time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible
Hours of Work
- Hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Work anywhere from 10-39 hours weekly!
- Hours may be limited by inclement weather.
Typical Duties Performed
- Teach fundamental skills to children, emphasizing skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, team building, and fun.
- Prepare lesson plans prior to each session, teaching skills in developmentally appropriate stages.
- Emphasize skills development including safety, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Work to establish and improve team unity and spirit.
- Serve as a positive role model to the participants and their parents/guardians.
- Constantly evaluate the activity participants’ strengths and abilities to provide for the appropriate feedback while evaluating your own performance as a youth activity lead.
- Provide for the health and safety of all participants including ensuring that all activity and playing areas are free of hazards and the materials and equipment are secured and put away when not in use.
- Educate on and enforce all park and recreation facility rules, regulations, and policies, maintaining a consistent discipline policy for all activity participants and their parents/guardians.
- Complete any necessary records and reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What is needed to apply for this job?
- Job seekers should be age 16 or older
- Current CPR-AED/First Aid certifications or will to be certified
- Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to complete tasks without supervision
- Leadership, decision-making, and public relations skills

- Have previous experience working with youth in a sports or educational setting
