What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook (ICF) position at St. Coletta's of Illinois?
At St. Coletta's, our mission is to serve children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can achieve their greatest potential.
We are seeking an entry level Cook to join our Residential/ICF team who will be responsible for the preparation of food while ensuring proper food storage, sanitation and use of food preparation equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Consults with nursing staff as needed regarding dietary matters and consults with dietitian on a monthly basis and assists with all menu planning.
- Prepares all meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus using proper food service procedures.
- Ensures proper food storage in accordance with Agency and program regulations.
- Ensures that food preparation areas and equipment are properly maintained securing a clean sanitary environment at all times in kitchen, pantry, dining room, including floors.
- Uses food preparation equipment properly, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels.
- Is familiar with and consistently implements all licensing regulations which pertain to food preparation, storage and sanitation
- Ensures a safe work environment for consumer(s) and staff at all times
- Is familiar with and adheres to all aspects of the infection control policy and other safety related practices
- Is responsible for grocery shopping and maintaining the established budget.
Qualifications:
- Must be familiar with kitchen safety procedures.
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid IL driver's license.
- Previous food service experience preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid Illinois Food Service Sanitation Certificate or willing to become certified.
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and the correct procedures for usage.
