What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Professional (MHP) position at St. Coletta's of Illinois?
St. Coletta's of Illinois is currently seeking A Mental Health Professional responsible for monitoring and actively implementing programming to meet the psychological needs of the individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities as well as those dually diagnosed. The Mental Health Professional is responsible for implementing all assigned duties specific to the Day Treatment Program. Supervises and cares for the needs of the assigned consumers.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM OR 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (no weekends)
Pay Rate: $22 hourly ($45,000 annually)
Responsibilities:
· Implements individualized treatment plans for the individuals served
· Actively participates in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
· Presents clinical information to the agency’s Behavioral Health Team
· Completes clinical documentation
· Participates in and attends all Team meetings for consumer caseload
· Responds to and manages emergency clinical issues including assisting the Behavioral Health Clinic with facilitating psychiatric hospitalization when necessary
· Observes consumers both in vocational settings to evaluate level of functioning, behavioral issues and mental status
· Provides individual and group psycho-social rehabilitation or therapy as assigned by The behavioral health team
· Implements the program activities as prescribed for the Day Treatment Program. Follows the Day Treatment Program daily schedule.
· Implements methods of instruction that are designed to enhance the consumer’s behavior and personal, vocational, social and ADL skills
· Documents all injuries and illnesses; notifies nursing for any fall, accident, illness and/or other medical concerns.
· Provides crisis counseling and emergency interventions as needed.
· Perform personal care as needed and/or required including, but not limited to, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene needs of the consumers.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Psychology/Counseling or an BSW
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License
- Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
- Pass a MVR background check
