About the Role
The Multi-Modality Technologist ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric. They maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in CQI activities.
Responsibilities
- Consistently produce images of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups.
- Operate Imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology, CT and MRI along with all related equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Complete quality imaging in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards.
- Possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
- Scan patients of all ages, tailoring exam to the age/size/weight/special needs of patient.
- Review written orders, assess patient medical record for allergies, possible pregnancy and other pertinent data prior to performing study.
- Communicate with Ordering Physicians and staff to clarify imaging orders prior to completion when necessary.
- Assist staff with coordinating care across the multidisciplinary care team in order to ensure efficient high-quality care.
- Adhere to all Radiation Right policies and procedures associated with imaging modality.
- Display flexibility in work assignment by shift, location and duration of shift, etc.
- Maintain QC/PI documentation for equipment in assigned area.
- Coordinate daily assignments/procedures to ensure optimal operations.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program approved by the AMA.
- Texas Department of State Health Services – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT)
