Compensation

The pay range for these positions starts at $53,140 - $59,045 hourly, depending on qualifications (i.e., licensure and experience). This salary reflects a 40-hour workweek, annualized. Any agreed-upon reduction in weekly hours will be reflected in salary commensurately. Please inquire with interest. Schedule:
· 40 hours per week.
· Schedule will be both flexible and coordinated in conjunction with organizational needs.
Location:
Work from Home with intermittent (potentially one time every or every other month) in-center work days/meetings at Nicollet Mall location.
Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist holds claims processing and accounts receivable / claims management duties and is part of the Billing Office team that strives to provide exceptional external and internal customer service related to billing/claims processing and accounts receivables / collections management processes.
The AR Specialist must be a problem-solver, highly task-oriented, detail-oriented, and a team player. Key responsibilities include working to resolve claims using the EHR system, processing claims, and efficiently managing accounts receivables / collections including required action and communication with payers, clients & families, clinical, program and other St. David's Center staff.
Position Overview:
· Process claims, adjustments, and denials of a cyclical/predictable nature (MA, county, private pay) and of a rolling nature (commercial and PMAP) for specific payers as determined by the Supervisor of AR and Manager of Billing.
· Follow up on claims on a regular basis to manage accounts receivables and collections for specific payers.
· Partner with other Billing Office team members, program staff, and/or clients and their families to understand and resolve claims issues and/or patient balances.
· Acquire and maintain: (1) an understanding of each team member's role; (2) an understanding of the impact of the billing office on the broader organizational goals; and (3) on-going cross-training and team building.
· Assist other billing team staff members during times of high-volume claims and/or accounts receivables processing or as deadline driven.

Job Qualifications:
Education
· Bachelor's degree in business, finance, specialized medical billing curriculum or related field or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
· Minimum of 3-5 years billing experience in a healthcare/hospital/clinic setting and/or 3rd party billing and claims resolution experience or a combination of relevant education and experience.
· Previous experience using an Electronic Health Record system required.
· Proven track record for resolving accounts receivable.
· Preferred: Experience in medical and behavioral health billing.
