Summer Recreation Therapy Support Staff
Compensation (Pay/Benefits) Our employees are our most valuable asset; therefore, we offer competitive pay and benefits. The pay range for these positions range from $16 - 17/hour, depending on shift commitment.
Schedule:
Part-time, Seasonal Position (June - August) with opportunity to continue throughout the school year.
Monday - Friday availability
10 - 40 hours/week
Shift options include:
Partial Day: 12 PM - 5 PM
Full Day: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Program Summary:
The Therapeutic Recreation Support Staff is responsible for providing services to participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a variety of therapeutic recreational activities in a group setting within the community. Activities include outings such as swimming pools, amusement parks, museums, nature centers, theaters, and more!
Position Overview:
Support Staff will provide a safe, structured environment to build friendships, encourage physical and social activity, become involved members of the community, and embrace health and wellness. Support Staff are responsible for up to 3 participants with disabilities at a time. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing care to participant(s), monitoring and ensuring safety of participant(s) out in the community, integrating into group social settings, assisting with community engagement and participation, promoting developmentally appropriate activities, positive behaviors, and encouraging peer interactions among program participant(s).

Job Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record (applicable to candidates 18 years of age or older only)
- Applicants must have the ability to use clear and understandable written and verbal English
- Ability to learn and perform procedures for the care of an individual with intellectual/development disabilities.
Experience
- Preference may be given to individuals with experience, training, and/or credits in high school/college level therapeutic recreation, recreation and leisure studies, social sciences, education, health care and/or human services.?
- No experience with people with disabilities is required; however, a desire to work?with people and a willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience with individuals with disabilities highly desired.
