Schedule: Flexible days, 3:00pm - 6:00pm (15hrs biweekly)
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents through clinical observation and formal testing, in areas of speech, language, non-symbolic communication, augmentative communication, articulation, hearing and oral motor skills for feeding and speech.
- Develop a written annual Assessment Summary to include strengths and needs within these areas.
- Provide written progress notes/reports as needed as well as documentation of specific objectives for each resident when necessary.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Assessments and Planning for each resident, including preadmission assessments.
- Provide or coordinate audiological assessments.
- Develop appropriate therapeutic program for each resident based on strengths and needs in speech, language, non-symbolic communication, augmentative communication, articulation, hearing and oral motor skills.
- Provide direct or assisted intervention based on identified needs.
- Develop a therapeutic feeding program for each resident to include texture recommendation.
- Coordinate goals and equipment within discipline with school speech/language and/or hearing therapist.
- Develop and maintain programs and lexicons for language boards, communication books, and augmentative devices.
- Maintain augmentative devices in good repair.
- Develop programs and maintain equipment for auditory training.
- Provide on-going In-Service training to residential staff to implement programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Must be a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in PA.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC/SLP)
- Experience with augmentative devices
- Must have experience with pediatric dysphagia management.
- ASHA certified.
