Part-time (less than 30 per week).
Responsibilities
- The scope of the Student Nurse Extern position encompasses a continuum of pediatric nursing care for developmentally delayed children ranging from preschool through adolescence and ends in early adulthood.
- The Student Nurse Extern will function under the continuous guidance, supervision, assistance and support from both Registered Nurses and Licensed Practice Nurses.
- Student Nurse Externs will utilize the nursing process to guide the provision of novice level pediatric developmental disabilities nursing care for selected residents in all three (3) skill domains : [1] Clinical / Technical Skills, [2] Critical Thinking Skills, and [3] Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
- With guidance, support, assistance and under the direct supervision of an R.N., demonstrate the competencies needed to ensure the provision of safe pediatric developmental disabilities, nursing care for selected residents.
