Position Description:
Full-time Intervention Specialist - 2025-2026 school year
Reports to: Dean of Student Services, working closely with Counselors and Faculty

St. Edward HS has a fantastic opportunity available for an Intervention Specialist to assist us with designing and implementing individualized programs for our students with special educational and social adjustment needs
Duties:
· Following the Mission of St. Edward High School maintains a professional demeanor, working to shape student’s behavior in ways allowing everyone the opportunity to learn and communicate their views.
· The Intervention Specialist speaks regularly with counselors, other faculty members, parents and students to provide positive learning experiences and identify and solve any problems or difficulties the student encounters throughout the school year.
· Supporting students with academic, social and behavioral needs, designs, writes and implements individual programs that best fit the student’s ability to learn and make appropriate choices.
· Maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment, reporting any threats or safety concerns the student may be experiencing to the Dean of Student Services and school Principal.
· May assist with monitoring students during assemblies, field trips, fire drills, mass etc.
· Employees must be willing and able to uphold the pillars of St. Edward HS, including Faith, Excellence, Relationships and Servant Leadership, participating in St. Edward HS sponsored activities related to our school’s Mission including outreach and admissions.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
· License with the Ohio Department of Education
· Demonstrated success working with special needs students.
· Proven ability to design effective programs for alternate learners.
· Proficient knowledge of classroom policies and procedures.
· Successful completion of a FBI/BCI criminal background check.
· Outstanding communication skills, verbally and written.
· Excellent observation and analytical techniques.
· Available to work extended hours when required to meet with parents.
· Experience in developing and administering Individualized Education Programs.
