Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Director, a Direct Support Professional is a key member of the St. Elizabeth Adult Day Care team. The primary role is to protect, sustain, and nurture patients by providing assistance with activities daily living (walking, toileting, and eating); as well as recreational activities throughout the day and meeting other needs as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prevent and manage varying behaviors among individuals with varying medical diagnosis.
· Administer CPR in emergency intervention if needed.
· Exhibit patience and understanding; be attentive to participants needs.
· Assist with daily feedings, toileting, and personal hygiene, in addition to ambulation and transferring (wheelchair to chair) as needed.
· Prepare and assist with activities – bingo, checkers, therapeutic chores, range of motion, table games, and periodic field trips to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation of participants to enhance physical, mental cognitive skills.
· Keep participants involved and interested; assist with maintaining a constant flow and smooth transition between activities.
· Observe participants to gauge their enjoyment and obtain their feedback to improve activities and events.
· Report medical concerns to the Site Director.
· Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
· Must be willing to periodically commute to the Ste Genevieve Center located at 765 Market St, Ste Genevieve, MO 63670
· High School diploma or GED
· setting or a long-term care facility.
· Interest and respect for the elderly and persons with special needs. Must have the ability to recognize and have concern for the participants’ needs, and the willingness to perform suitable services which are appropriate.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail, ability to problem solve, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities while exhibiting good time management skills.
Accountability:
Work under the direction of the Site Director.
Work Environment:
Employee may need to travel between St. Elizabeth’s Adult Day Care Centers in addition to the assigned day care center. This position may also require the employee to stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, or climb.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
