Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The incumbent performs technical work of considerable difficulty primarily in testing patient samples through various chemical microscopic serological and bacteriologic techniques requiring a significant amount of independent judgment while operating and maintaining automated equipment. The incumbent is also responsible for daily workflow to ensure timely and efficient departmental operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory experience
- CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
- Above average communication organizational skills mathematical aptitude for computations standard formulas and precise measurements and ability to adapt to workload demands
- Ability to remain clam and function efficiently during difficult or emergency situations
- Ability to write policy and procedures as well as communicate verbal directions efficiently
- Ability to evaluate new equipment methodologies and procedures and maintain department readiness for licensure inspections
Preferred Requirements:
- Clinical laboratory experience in an acute care hospital
- Registration with a national professional organization (AABB ASCP NCA)
- Related advanced education
