This position is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all genetic counseling staff and clinical schedule for : preconception, prenatal, hereditary cancer, hereditary cardiac, proactive and pharmacogenomics testing. This position serves as a liaison between genetics, specialty providers and the Director of Precision Medicine. This position leads the day-to-day operations of the genetic counselors and genetic navigators. This position also coordinates the evaluation of Genetic Counseling students. Acts in accord with the mission of St. Elizabeth Medical Center as sponsored by the Bishop of the Covington Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.

Job Description :
- Leads day-to-day operations related to the Genetic counseling staff—including but not limited to orientation, maintaining schedules, ensuring accurate work, and reporting overall performance to the director of Precision Medicine
- Assist director in maintaining staff compliance with all regulatory bodies related to the genetic program at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
- Provide reports, billing information, and follow-up
- Assists in the implementation of new genetic counseling services within the Precision Medicine department.
- Manages clinical caseloads
- Provides clinical expertise for the more complex cases. Provides advanced genetic counseling services for all areas of medical genetics, including prenatal, adult, and cancer referrals. Assesses recurrence risks and recommends medical or genetic testing based on analysis of the risk, benefit, and cost, in addition to psychosocial support. Provides necessary follow-up, documentation and communication with other members of the health care team
- Serves as liaison between genetics and other clinical departments.
- Identifies opportunities for growth and coordinates additional training.
- Identifies services and operational problems and issues. Provides support to identify research, develop and implement solutions.
- Oversee genetic counseling experiences of new employees, students and trainees and serves as a role model for assertive, open and receptive communication style for students.
- Teaches classes, workshops, and / or individuals within medical and general community
- Performs other duties as assigned.
