This position has the role of Contract Attorney and is a staff attorney responsible for working collaboratively with St. Elizabeths Associate General Counsel-Contracts and internal business owners in performing various administrative and legal tasks related to the drafting, editing, maintenance, and negotiation of contracts forwarded to the Legal Department for review. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization, critical thinking and the ability to communicate and work with all levels and specialties in the organization. Duties include reviewing, analyzing, drafting and editing contracts and documents, utilizing the contract management system, calculating contract values, working with compensation benchmarks, researching various legal issues, creating and updating templates, tracking contract review progress and status, communicating with other department personnel, and other contract matters and duties as they arise.

Job Description
- Is a staff attorney who provides in-house legal support for the contracting process. Drafts and reviews contracts in accordance with St. Elizabeth Healthcare policies and relevant law
- Maintains appropriate St. Elizabeth Healthcare contract flow process from inception through execution and renewal, including using an electronic database to monitor St. Elizabeth Healthcare contracts, and obtaining and retaining written copies of all pertinent contracts.
- Communicates contract policies and practices to St. Elizabeth Healthcare departments as required and ensures compliance with same for accreditation purposes.
- Performs legal duties including basic research, filing, mailings, information/document retrieval and written/verbal communication with internal and external persons.
- Assists in providing education to St. Elizabeth Healthcare departments as required by Legal Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors Degree
- J.D.
- Thorough understanding of the legal system and regulatory environment
- Excellent communication skills
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access), databases, Internet, Westlaw and e-mail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Three years related law firm or in-house experience in corporate compliance or contract law including scanning and electronic filing of documents.
