The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The Medical Assistant provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA / CLIA and HIPAA Regulations, and ensures completion of all duties vital to business operations. The Medical Assistant is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, and other visitors to the office.

Job Description :
- Prepares patient for exam and acquires vital signs, weight, general history, and current medication list when required.
- Provides patient care and clinical support to provider during exam, including acupuncture needle removal, application of stimulator, needle count, venipuncture, injections, and EKGs.
- Documents all clinical findings and patient response to interventions, i.e., history, medications, vital signs, weight, and testing results.
- Collects and provides to the provider the completed Laboratory / test findings Intake Form, and physician referral information, Diagnostic Imaging, or Cardiopulmonary test results as they are available.
- Provides instruction to patients under the direction of the provider.
- Maintains adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and work station. Cleans and disinfects exam rooms. Reports malfunction of equipment to department supervisor.
- Provides assistance to Clerical Coordinator / Registrar as needed. Assists with completion of referral process, outpatient testing, pre-certification and scheduling.
- Timely and accurate collection / distribution of all patient information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses :
DESIRABLE
Graduate of accredited medical assisting school
Six months to one-year experience preferred in medical office.
