POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Robotics Electrical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and have ownership of a project, or projects, to build essential engineering skills and make an impactful, long-lasting contribution to Aethon.
Areas of Impact: process improvement, data analysis, documentation, quality control, project support, cross-functional collaboration, ECAD and Design Tool efficiency
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the design team in the coordination of project designs with other disciplines
- Assist the senior engineering staff in the execution of the technical activities required on assigned projects and learn the discipline technical policies and procedures
- Create, modify, and manage electrical component libraries including the schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and part number information
- Participate in technical studies, investigations, and designs on assigned projects encompassing systems, circuit boards, and wiring harnesses
- Work closely with individual design engineers in the Mechanical and Electrical teams as well as team leads to improve overall reliability and performance of our robotic systems
- Support troubleshooting problems with deployed components/systems and analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to think analytically and use data to guide decision making
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to take direction and translate into action
- Desire to learn and to make an impactful contribution on the growth and operation of our organization
- Pursuing a degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Understanding of database storage, access, and management
- Proficient basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work independently; strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel to Pittsburgh (Robinson Twp) manufacturing facilities on a regular basis
- Knowledge of 3D Electrical CAD systems
- Open to Sophomore, Junior, and Senior applicants
