Job description : Responsibilities :
Productivity
- Deploy and effectively utilize manpower and material resources in the department. Liaise with other departments on daily production schedule.
- Assist in planning department manpower projections.
- Assess and plan weekly manpower deployment and allocation of repair vessel to subcontractor.
- Obtain and monitor drawings / technical information.
- Attend assigned project progress meetings / HAT meetings.
- Assess staff work performance under charge as required.
- Identify training needs for staff.
- Monitor job progress and man hours of the assigned project. Ensure no delays to project schedule and work within assigned budget.
- Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department and explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.
- Liaise with owner's representative and / or class surveyor during witness / inspection.
- Raise subcontractor order forms.
- Check and monitor subcontractor deployment.
- Raise PR or DRL for materials required for the vessel and monitor material usage / availability.
- Assist in reviewing department documentation and processes.
- Preparation for VSCC meetings.
- Highlight areas needing attention from other trades to clear their work (e.g., temporary lightings, staging, closing of access, etc.).
- Update and highlight any housekeeping and safety issues.
