ST Engineering Aerospace is located at Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. We meet our customers' requirements by providing a full spectrum of high-quality, reliable, and timely AMM and engineering solutions. We have the know-how and experience to comprehensively manage complex projects, ensuring our customers' aircraft operate safely and efficiently.

What YOU will do:

The Director Quality shall be responsible to the Vice President Quality and Organizational Excellence for the overall state of the company's Quality, Safety, Training and Continuous Improvement efforts.

  • Review the selection, discipline and release of personnel assigned to the Inspection Department.
  • Manage the QC Inspection Department, including permanent personnel, Non-destructive Testing, and other personnel who may be assigned inspection duties on a temporary basis.
  • Manage the QA department, including permanent personnel, QA Inspectors, Audit and Compliance Managers, Analysts, Calibration Techs and other personnel who may be assigned duties on a temporary basis.
  • Manage the Training Department consisting of all training personnel including Aircraft Records and other personnel who may be assigned duties on a temporary basis.
  • Manage the Safety Department, including permanent personnel, safety Inspecgtors, Environmental Techs, CI Analysts and other personnel who may be assigned duties on a temporary basis.
  • Assure the airworthiness of all company and customer aircraft in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and take responsibility for the training of all inspection personnel.
  • Maintain a current list of contract Maintenance Agencies and ascertain that they

are properly equipped and qualified for the work they perform for the company.

  • Establish and supervise an up-to-date file for Federal Aviation Regulations, AD Notes, Aircraft Specifications and Service Bulletins.
  • Establish and oversee oversight of all maintenance activities through QA audits, inspections and investigations including RCA and comprehensive fix implementation and safety assurance.
  • Maintain records of all work performed by the Repair Station. including identification, implementation and sustainability of efficient electronic recordkeeping systems
  • Establish, monitor and improve maintenance and inspection procedures that assure company and customer aircraft will be maintained in a safe, efficient and economical manner.
  • Coordinate with the Federal Aviation Administration's local representatives all activities on which the approval of the Administration must be obtained, including changes of Operations Specifications and/or manual changes as they apply.
  • Monitor continuously the shop's ability to accomplish maintenance functions and utilize the information obtained.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of manuals, with up-to-date revisions, used by the company in maintaining aircraft in an airworthy condition.
  • Assure certification of all parts and materials used in the repair, modification or overhaul of all aircraft, components and constituent parts.
  • Ensure that the calibration of precision tools is recorded and maintained.
  • Institute improved inspection procedures and methods that would tend to improve the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance.
  • Establish and oversee Safety inspections, environmental requirements and initiatives to maintain compliance with OSHA, state and local standards.
  • Establish and oversee the Continuous Improvement Team in its mission to improve the operation under corporate guidelines, including sustainability efforts.
  • Make whatever recommendations deemed necessary to the Vice President Quality and Organizational Excellence that would be of benefit to, or an improvement in, the Repair Station Maintenance Procedures.
  • Review improved inspection procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of the Maintenance and Quality Control Departments.
  • Carry out other such duties as directed by the Vice President Quality and Organizational Excellence.
  • Make available to all departments the required technical data on all aircraft, engines, and appliances, for the maintenance accomplished and keeping the data current with latest revision. The data will include manufacturer's maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, and any other technical data used by the Repair Station.
  • Ensure that the training required by VT Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc.’s employees to reach and maintain competency is adequate and that training records are properly maintained.
  • May delegate all duties to any qualified assistant as necessary. However, such delegation shall not relieve the Director Quality of the overall responsibility.

JOB SEPCIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:

Documented leadership experience, either corporate or military. Proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications; strong writing and presentation skills; proficient skills in organizing, analyzing and preparing reports; excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal skills needed for frequent interaction with customers, Leads, Managers, Directors, outside agencies and government officials. Working knowledge of aircraft manuals and related materials; working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and non-destructive testing; knowledge of paperwork procedures including job cards/time cards, routine/non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s, and work sign-off procedures; familiar with F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Non-climate controlled industrial environment.

SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.

What YOU need:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in training, education and/or experience

EXPERIENCE: 5 years of aerospace experience required.

5 years of management experience, including 5 years maintenance management, required
