We are seeking skilled Machine Repair Mechanics to maintain and repair essential equipment, conduct predictive and preventive maintenance, and perform mechanical hardware upgrades. In addition, successful candidates will effectively communicate with supervisor, Engineers and internal customers, providing accurate and concise updates on repair progress, parts procurement needs, and estimated completion time. The role also involves troubleshooting and replacing faulty equipment, as well as assembling and rebuilding a wide range of plant machinery, including but not limited to Numerically Controlled (NC) machines, robots and end effectors, lifting equipment, precision-built machines, roll up doors, autoclaves, compressors and other manufacturing and process equipment. Please note Seniority may determine shift assignments, this role has a high probability of requiring off shift schedule.

Salary for this role: $38.00 per hour shift differential. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.

What YOU will do
- Utilizes mechanical knowledge to examine machines and equipment using sensory inspection as well as calibrated monitoring tools. Capable of using the results of these examinations to recommend and collaborate on needed repairs.
- Determines proper method of dismantling machine to gain access to trouble or faulty parts, and dismantles and removes parts by using a variety of mechanic's hand tools.
- Develop maintenance procedures when documentation is not available and devise and make tools to facilitate work.
- Obtains replacement parts from facilities engineering, OEM, and or supervisors. If a particular part is lacking clear engineering definition, the Mechanic shall be capable of creating dimensioned sketches that allow reverse engineering and fabrication of the components.
- Checks work by use of precision measuring instruments including but not limited to micrometer(s), dial indicators, Precision Test Bar(gage bar), and other similar tools.
- Cleans, oils, and inspects components parts and re-assembles machines, making necessary adjustments to insure proper machine performance. Performs thorough preventive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing and industrial equipment. Including but not limited to gear box, motors, autoclave mechanical systems, compressors, robots, rotarty tables, listing and positioning equipment and multi-axis CNC machines.
- HS Diploma/GED equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
- Requires the ability to understand and use mechanical concepts and principles, understand and utilize machine shop mathematics, and the understanding and use of a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Must use appropriate PPE. Demonstrate a commitment to following safe procedures and adhere to safe repair practices.
- Experience with diagnostics and repair of mechanical components. Ability to interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics and other mechanical repair manuals.
- Willingness and ability to instruct and assist less experienced mechanics.
- A physically demanding role with exposure to loud noises, potential hazards, and often dirty environments, requiring the use of protective gear, frequent standing, lifting heavy parts, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to run small bench lathe, drill press, surface grinder, etc., to reshape, regrind, fit, and replace broken or worn parts, often to close tolerances depending on job requirements.
- Welding experience.
- Experience with aligning multi-axis milling machines for tram, concentricity, measuring pivot lengths, and measuring draw bar clamping values.
- Experience maintaining and repairing autoclaves and PSA nitrogen generation mechanical components.
