Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, and specialized care units. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively with patients suffering from conditions such as dementia and infectious diseases.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide support to nursing staff in delivering care to patients in inpatient settings.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and progress.
- Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care in various departments, including PICU and Level I Trauma Center.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or assisted living environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and infectious disease management is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Experience in caregiving roles will be beneficial for understanding patient needs and providing empathetic support.
