St. Francis Elementary School in Humphrey is accepting applications for a Kindergarten teacher. We are beginning a two-track kindergarten in the 2025-2026 school year. We are committed to excellence with a strong Catholic identity. Person with a strong Catholic faith is desired as teaching the faith is part of the curriculum.
Job Description:
Curriculum Development and Instruction:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover foundational skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of individual learners.
- Utilize various teaching strategies and resources to enhance learning.
Classroom Management and Safety:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and learning.
- ·Supervise students during transitions, recess, and lunch to ensure their safety.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Assess student learning through observation, informal assessments, and formal evaluations.
- Communicate student progress and needs to parents and school staff.
- Identify students who may need additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
Parent Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents to share student progress and address concerns.
- Collaborate with parents and other school staff to support student learning and development.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through professional development opportunities.
- Participate in school-wide meetings and activities.
Other Duties:
- Prepare and maintain classroom materials and resources.
- Assist with school events and activities.
- Help children with daily routines and promote health and safety concepts.
- Guide and promote positive social interactions between children.
Requirements:
- Must have current teaching certificate and appropriate endorsement.
- Position requires Safe Environment training.
