JOB SUMMARY
- Serve as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating two or more functional roles of the patient care plan of which may include the following: Basic Patient Care Activities, Unit Secretary functions, performing 12 lead EKG’s. Accurately and promptly communicates with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating
- Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff
- Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
- Performs clerical duties, aligned with nursing station activities
- Assist in the provision of patient care through performing 12 lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) studies
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent X Required
Licensure and Certifications
- Must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a C.N.A., Medical Assistant, or EMT
- Basic Life Support required
Minimum Work Experience
- One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred
Required Skills
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
