The telephone operator is responsible for the daily operation of the hospital switchboard, operation of the paging and radio systems, monitoring various alarms, and initiating emergency procedures when necessary. Contacts on-call personnel (surgery, cath lab, endoscopy, etc.) assists with visitor management and enforcing hospital visitation policies, and acts as information receptionist after hours.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
X High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Education
1 yr. switchboard (or similar) experience.
