SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor; works on various maintenance and repair projects.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Services, maintains, and repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural equipment.
- Performs scheduled maintenance on Facility equipment.
- Takes and records readings on plant equipment and makes manager aware of any abnormal conditions.
- Answers trouble calls and makes repair calls as required.
- Observes health and safety rules and works in accordance with safe procedures and policies of the hospital; reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries promptly.
- Keeps current with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and follow all precautions on all MSDS.
- Assists other Craftsmen as required.
- Follows all procedures to prevent the spread of any infectious virus or bacteria.
- Operates the company vehicle in a safe manner following all State and Federal laws.
- Participates in the On-Call Program when required to provide emergency services to the hospital, during internal and external disaster according to the hospital disaster plans.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices in mechanical spaces, plant and throughout the hospital.
- Attends all required In-Service training.
- Ensure all tools, parts and material are kept secure from patients and visitors at all times.
- Responsible for tools assigned by the department.
- Follows proper precautions as per current instructions when working in or around exhaust ducts, fans and filters.
- PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
